Star Hospitals Hosts Successful MRCEM OSCE Exam Workshop for Aspiring Emergency Physicians

Star Hospitals proudly conducted a comprehensive two-day MRCEM OSCE Exam Workshop at
their Nanakramguda facility. The workshop was designed for aspirants of the Membership of the
Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM) and was a resounding success, attractingparticipants from across the region.

The Observed Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is an essential component of medical
education, allowing students to practice and demonstrate their clinical skills in standardized
medical scenarios. Through the OSCEs, students have the opportunity to showcase their competencies in communication, history taking, physical examination, clinical reasoning, medical knowledge, and the integration of these skills. This method provides a fair and accurateassessment of competence, while also identifying areas needing further work and practice.
The OSCE Workshop at Star Hospitals featured a variety of stations, including:

1. Clinical Interactions: Engaging with standardized patients for counselling, examinations, and
history taking, either in-person or virtually.
2. Examination of Mannequins: Hands-on practice with mannequins and interpretation of
findings.
3. Resuscitation scenarios : Dealing with scenarios simulating critically ill patients.
4. Test Interpretation: Training on the interpretation of various medical tests.
5. Procedural skills: Developing and delivering key procedural skills required in an emergency.
As the only hospital in India staffed with FRCEM-qualified Emergency Physicians, Star Hospitals
has established itself as the premier destination for MRCEM training. The expertise and
dedication of the Star Hospitals training center ensure that participants receive the highest
quality education and preparation for their exams.
