Well, who doesn’t forget things? Sometimes one forgets where one kept the house key or at times it is the mobile phone that is hard to find or sometimes is it a task from one’s to-do list that one had to finish doing. Forgetting is common, but as one grows older one can face too many such moments, and that may cause trouble. But fret not. Here are a few simple tips to strengthen one’s brain power and boost one’s memory.

Exercise

Yes, regular exercise not only keeps the body fit but also keeps the brain healthy. When one indulges in cardiovascular activity, a lot of oxygen-rich blood is pumped to the brain. That blood contains nutrients such as glucose that keeps the brain active.

Eat fish

Eating fish reduces the risk of developing Alzhermer’s disease by 60%. Cold water species of fish contain a type of omega 3-fatty acid that is found in the brain. If one is not a fish person, one could opt for other options of sea food.

Play a game

Challenge your brain with some brain games. Take a puzzle or solve sudoku. The brain likes to be given unexpected events. Take a break from the routine chore and indulge in some brain work out.

Have happy thoughts

Positive thoughts have a good impact on the brain’s ability to process information. This also leads to better health of the brain. It has been proven that people who experience positive emotions are 60% less likely to develop diseases associated with the brain. So, for someone on the older side of the graph, thinking of old moments that were happy is good for the brain.
