CARE Hospitals, Nampally Hosts World Heart Day Walkathon, Inspiring Hyderabad to Step Up for Heart Health

CARE Hospitals, Nampally, successfully organized World Heart Day Walkathon to raise awareness about heart health and encourage the community to embrace a more active lifestyle. Starting at 8:00 AM from CARE Hospitals, Nampally, the walkathon proceeded to the Public Garden and returned to the hospital campus. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, local residents, fitness enthusiasts, and healthcare professionals, all walking together with the common goal of building stronger hearts and healthier communities.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Naina Jaiswal, the youngest Ph.D. holder and international table tennis player, along with Guest of Honour Mr. Vishal Maheshwari, Group Chief Financial Officer, Quality Care India Limited. Senior doctors including Dr. Aman Salwan, Dr Ameen Uddin, Dr Sanjeev Rao, Dr Nasheed Ali, Dr. (Lt Col) Prabhakar, Dr.Usha Rani, Dr. Seema Sunil Pulla, Dr Ashish Mathur and Dr. Shashikanth Aggsare, HCOO of CARE Hospitals, Nampally, Mr. Santosh Shukla also joined the occasion, lending their support to this heart-health initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Naina Jaiswal said, Your heart is in your hands, and a strong heart builds a strong life. Healthy living is not a sacrifice, it is a celebration of balance and joy. Small lifestyle changes, like eating fresh and healthy food, moving more, reducing salt and sugar, and saying no to smoking, can make a big difference. Even a short daily walk can add years to your life and smiles to your day. Today’s walkathon is a reminder that prevention is always better than cure, and that every step we take towards fitness is a step towards a healthier and happier tomorrow.”

Mr. Vishal Maheshwari added, “Preventive health is the key to reducing the burden of heart disease, which remains one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. Walkathons like these are more than symbolic—they create awareness and motivate individuals to make conscious choices every day. A simple daily walk, a balanced diet, timely health check-ups, and stress management can together safeguard our hearts. Supporting and participating in such initiatives helps reinforce the message that prevention is always better and more sustainable than cure.”

Welcoming the gathering, Dr. Shashikanth Aggsareremarked, “The response to this walkathon has been overwhelming. It shows that awareness is growing, and more people are committed to making fitness a part of their daily lives. At CARE Hospitals, we remain dedicated to promoting heart health through both medical expertise and community-driven initiatives.”

The walkathon concluded with participants pledging to maintain healthy lifestyles, along with valuable heart health tips shared by CARE Hospitals’ cardiology team.
