Walkathon 2K to create awareness on healthy heart
Hyderabad, 29th September 2018: Hundreds of people participated in a walkathon organized by Aster Prime Hospitals, Ameerpet, Hyderabad to commemorate ‘World Heart Day’ today. The main objective of this walkathon is to spread awareness and sensitize people about the importance of exercise for a healthy heart.
Dr. G Satish Reddy, MD of Aster Hospitals flagged off the walkathon. The Walk started at 6:00 AM from Aster Prime Hospitals and ended at Krishna Kanth Park. Covering a distance of 2 kilometers, and the walkathon witnessed passionate participation from more than a 200 residents of the city, who walked the distance with cheer.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. G Satish, MD, Aster Prime Hospitals, said, “Today’s Walkathon focused on refining the concept of a healthy living in the minds of everyone to ignite enthusiasm for rejuvenating health. With the effects of changing lifestyle and food habits, there is no time for exercise and healthy living. Only having knowledge about heart health is not enough; we also need to incorporate healthy changes in day to day activities to have a healthy heart.”

If an individual is already a diabetic or blood pressure patient, it helps in improving blood sugar and blood pressure control. Walking promotes overall health and well-being while reducing stress, tension, depression, anxiety.”
